Genital skin problems
Genital skin problems are so common and can result in pain and swelling. These problems can be irritation, so they should treat as soon as possible.
First, better to consider symptoms of genital skin problems. Skin problems have wide range of signs and symptoms. Some of the symptoms are as following:
- Itching
- Burning
- Pain
- Swelling
- Glands or masses
- Scar
- Vaginal discharges
It should be considered that, some women who have vaginal itching, and think that they have vaginal thrush. But as mentioned before, itching is one symptoms of genital skin problems that should be considered.
Final diagnosis is made based on the considering the medical background and skin examinations. Some of the procedures are:
- Cleaning the skin and vagina from the bacteria, fungal and viruses
- Blood test
- Biopsy
After diagnosis of the problem, treatment starts. Due to the sensitivity of genital system, this area needs more care and treatment.
Women should wash their vaginal, daily. This helps to remove the bacteria and viruses.
Some genital skin problems are as following:
- Lichen sclerosus
This disease is a skin problem that results in thinning the skin, itching and pain. This problem is seen at any ages, mostly in menopausal women. Lichen sclerosus is seen mostly around the clitoris, labia and rectum.
Steroids are useful to treat this problem.
- Eczema
Eczema occurs more in those who have sensitive skin. This problem causes redness, pain and vaginal itching.
- Psoriasis
Red and crusty rashes in vagina, is called psoriasis. This problem results in dryness and thickening the vaginal skin. Psoriasis is treated to stop the rapid growth of skin cells.
Women should care about their genital health and consider the hygiene points. This area is so sensitive to the different diseases. But, fortunately, all mentioned above problems can not transmit by sexual intercourse.
